Is anyone else feeling uneasy about Q3?

I've been at Palo Alto Networks for almost 5 years now, in a sales engineering role. I usually love it here, but something feels off lately. The VP of our division was acting really strange in the last all-hands meeting, kept talking about 'efficiency' and 'optimizing resources'. I know every company uses that kind of jargon, but it felt different this time. Plus, I heard from a buddy on the product side that they're freezing new projects until further notice. Anyone else picking up on these vibes? Or am I just being paranoid?

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. I'm in marketing, and the budget cuts are already hitting us hard. We're being told to do more with less, which usually means 'work longer hours and expect no extra pay'. It's definitely concerning when sales engineers, who are usually revenue-generating, start feeling the pinch. I'd start updating your resume, just in case. Better to be prepared than caught off guard, right?

Honestly, this kind of thing happens every few years. They always have 'efficiency' drives and project freezes. It's usually just a way to boost the stock price before the next earnings report. Unless you hear about actual layoffs, I wouldn't panic too much. Just focus on your job, meet your quota, and try to ignore the noise. Companies love to create artificial stress to squeeze more productivity out of employees.
