Just to provide some clarity for those still scrambling for info: the rumors about the May 27th cuts are official. We are looking at 56 positions being impacted across the NJ operations. It’s a mix of R&D and some support roles, which is honestly hitting harder than expected. If you were part of this group, please make sure you’ve downloaded your personal files and contact info before your credentials get nuked. Also, for those still in the building, keep your head down and focus on your documentation. I’ve seen enough of these cycles to know that if your project wasn't highlighted in the last 'strategic review,' you’re effectively a ghost. Does anyone know if they are offering the standard enhanced severance packages, or are they playing hardball this time? Dealing with the HR portal was a nightmare last year, so if anyone has insight into how the process is working this week, it would be appreciated.

It is honestly exhausting watching this play out again. Fifty-six people is a significant number when you consider the families behind those roles and the loss of institutional knowledge. The constant cycle of restructuring creates such a toxic environment for those left behind. Everyone is just waiting for the next round of notifications, and the stress is palpable in the hallways. My heart goes out to those affected by these layoffs; make sure you utilize your networking contacts immediately before the severance dust settles.

Thanks for finally putting a concrete number to the rumors. It is unfortunate to see these departments gutted, especially R&D. The uncertainty is the worst part—nobody feels secure anymore, and morale is at an all-time low. If you were one of the 56, don't let this define your career. Polish up those resumes and start reaching out to recruiters right away. For the rest of us, it is time to keep our heads down, document everything, and start looking at what other opportunities are out there before the next wave hits.
