Pfizer NJ layoffs - What's the long-term outlook?

With this latest round of 56 layoffs in New Jersey, it's hard not to worry about the future of Pfizer, at least for us on the ground. I've been here for a while and this feels different from past 'optimizations.' It seems like a consistent downward trend. Are these targeted cuts, or is it more about a broader strategic shift away from certain areas? Feels like every quarter there's some 'efficiency drive.' I'm trying to stay positive and focus on my work, but it's tough when the rug feels like it could be pulled out from under you. Anyone have a read on what leadership is thinking long-term? Is this about pipeline issues, market pressures, or something else entirely? Just looking for some perspective from others who might be in the know or just as concerned. Are people actively looking elsewhere, or are we all just holding on hoping for stability?

Pfizer NJ layoffs: Another 56 gone, anyone else affected?

Just saw the news about another 56 layoffs at Pfizer, specifically hitting NJ locations. This is getting brutal. Feels like we're constantly bracing for the next round. Anyone else on here in NJ who got the news today or recently? Trying to get a sense of who's being targeted this time. I'm in [specific but anonymized department, e.g., R&D/Clinical Ops] and thankfully still here, but the anxiety is through the roof. It's hard to stay motivated when you see colleagues let go. Wondering if there's a pattern or if it's just across the board. Heard rumors about restructuring, but it's hard to know what's real. Anyone have insights into what's driving these cuts? Feels like pharma is really consolidating and tightening up.

Rant: So sick of this constant anxiety!

Honestly, I'm so done with this constant cloud of potential layoffs hanging over our heads! It feels like every few months, there's another round of rumors and whispers, and everyone's walking on eggshells. I'm in regulatory affairs, and even though my team is usually considered 'safe', you never know. It's impossible to focus on my work when I'm constantly worried about losing my job. The stress is affecting my sleep, my relationships, everything. It's like they're intentionally keeping us on edge to boost productivity or something. I wish they'd just be transparent and tell us what's going on, instead of letting us all slowly drive ourselves crazy. Seriously considering starting to apply elsewhere just to escape this toxic environment.

Severance package question - what to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Pfizer *were* to announce layoffs (again!), what's the standard severance package like? I've been with the company for 4 years, in a marketing role, and I'm trying to get a sense of what I might be entitled to if the worst happens. Is it based on tenure? Do they offer outplacement services? Any insight from people who've been through it before would be greatly appreciated. Trying to be proactive and prepared, just in case the rumors are true. Also, does anyone know if they typically offer voluntary packages before mandatory ones? Trying to decide if I should jump at the opportunity if it comes up.

Heard whispers about restructuring in the Groton R&D site?

Anyone else hearing stuff about a potential re-org hitting the Groton, CT R&D site? I'm in preclinical development, been here for 7 years, and the rumor mill is usually pretty accurate. The talk is that certain departments are underperforming (allegedly) and facing significant cuts, possibly even being consolidated with other sites. I'm not sure if this means layoffs or just internal transfers, but either way, it's unsettling. My manager hasn't said anything concrete, but they've been acting weird lately, canceling one-on-ones and generally being less communicative. Anyone else experiencing similar vibes? Trying to gauge how worried I should be about starting to polish up the resume...

Rant: Seriously Considering Jumping Ship Before It Sinks

Honestly, I'm so tired of the constant uncertainty at this company. I've only been here for 3 years, and it feels like every other month there's a new rumor about layoffs. The stress is just unbearable. I'm in marketing, and we're already stretched thin. If they cut anyone else from my team, I don't know how we'll manage. I'm starting to think it's time to just proactively look for another job. The money is good here, but it's not worth the constant anxiety. Anyone else feeling the same way? I'm seriously considering a smaller biotech, even if it means a slight pay cut. At least there might be some stability. This place is a rollercoaster, and I'm ready to get off.

Severance Package Question - Preparing for the Worst

So, I’ve been at Pfizer for 12 years, and while I'm hoping for the best, I’m also trying to be realistic about the current climate. IF there were to be another round of layoffs, does anyone have recent experience with the severance package offered? I'm trying to figure out my finances and what kind of runway I'd have if I were impacted. I'm mainly concerned about health insurance continuation and how vacation time is handled. Any insights would be appreciated. Trying to stay positive, but also trying to be prepared. I’m in regulatory affairs.

Hearing Whispers of Restructuring - Again? (R&D)

Okay, so I've been with Pfizer for about 7 years now, in the R&D department, and I'm starting to get that familiar knot in my stomach. The one I get whenever there's talk of 'restructuring' floating around. Anyone else hearing more than usual chatter about potential changes coming down the pipeline? Specifically, I'm in the Cambridge, MA site. The VP had a weird all-hands meeting last week that felt…vague, but also ominous. Last time this happened, it was a bloodbath. I’m not sure I can go through that stress again. Anyone have any inside intel on what's brewing? Should I start updating my resume?
