Pfizer New Jersey - Impact of Recent Layoffs on Team Dynamics

Just saw the BioSpace report about Pfizer letting go of 56 employees in NJ recently. This is becoming a pattern, and frankly, it's creating a lot of uncertainty and affecting morale. For those of us still here, it's hard to ignore. You start questioning job security and the company's direction. I'm curious to hear from others, especially in the NJ offices. How are these layoffs affecting your day-to-day work and team dynamics? Are responsibilities being redistributed? Is there a noticeable dip in collaboration or a rise in stress levels? It's tough to maintain momentum and focus when there's a constant undercurrent of 'who's next?' I'm not looking for specific names or confidential info, just trying to gauge the broader impact on the working environment and employee sentiment. Any thoughts or shared experiences would be helpful.

It's definitely unsettling to see these numbers. The constant churn makes it tough to build consistent momentum. We're all trying to stay focused on our projects, but there's an underlying tension. Meetings feel a bit more guarded, and people are understandably more hesitant to share long-term ideas. I'm hoping leadership addresses the team openly soon to provide some clarity on the path forward and reassure us about stability.

Completely agree. The uncertainty is the worst part. It's not just about losing colleagues, it's about what it signifies for the company's strategy. There's a definite buzz about who might be next, and it's impacting collaboration. People are less inclined to invest heavily in initiatives when they're worried about their own position. Hoping for some clear communication to ease the anxiety.
