Anyone else feel the pinch at PM recently?

Hey everyone. Been with PMI for a few years now in [department, e.g., Marketing/R&D]. Lately, things feel... off. There's a definite sense of unease that wasn't here before. Project scopes seem to be shrinking, there's a lot more emphasis on "efficiency" which, to me, translates to doing more with less. Heard some murmurs about budget freezes in certain areas and a general slowdown in hiring. It's not just my team; I've chatted with folks in other departments and they're feeling it too. No official announcements, of course, but the vibe is definitely shifting. Anyone else experiencing this? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or just specific to my corner of the business. Curious to hear if others are seeing similar trends or have any insights.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed the shift. It's like the 'growth at all costs' mentality has been replaced with 'protect what we have.' The focus on efficiency is palpable, and while cost-saving can be good, it feels like it's coming at the expense of innovation and employee morale. Been here a while and this feels like a different company than it was even a couple of years ago. Hoping it's a temporary phase.

I'm picking up on the same vibe. Seems like the company is tightening its belt more than usual. The whispers about hiring slowdowns and budget constraints are everywhere. Makes you wonder about future opportunities and stability. It’s a bit unsettling when you’re used to a more dynamic environment. Curious to see how long this 'efficiency drive' lasts.
