Is it just me, or is the culture at PM shifting significantly?
Been at Philip Morris for nearly a decade, working in R&D. I've always appreciated the stability and the collaborative spirit here. But over the past year, it feels like things are fundamentally changing. There's a new emphasis on 'performance metrics' that feel almost impossible to hit consistently, and the focus seems to be shifting away from long-term innovation towards short-term gains. People who used to be supportive are now more competitive. I've noticed fewer informal interactions and more formal, guarded communication. It's making work feel a lot less enjoyable, and frankly, a bit more stressful than it needs to be. Management keeps talking about 'evolving the business' but it feels like they're losing sight of the people who make it happen.
