Just saw the news cycle starting to pick up on the actual numbers. It’s 1,600 roles gone. CoStar is reporting it as part of the broader efficiency push, but it’s hitting deep across several product categories. My floor was definitely hit hard this morning. Security was visible, the badges were deactivated, and the silence in the office is deafening. I’ve been here for over six years and I haven't seen a purge this clinical. They’re leaning hard into the 'digital-first' narrative, claiming that because we can optimize ad spend better now, we don't need the staff to manage the traditional channels. It feels like a corporate pivot disguised as a necessity. If you’re still waiting on notification, keep your eyes on your personal email and be prepared for the 'access termination' sequence. The transition period is basically non-existent. Good luck to everyone currently scrambling to update their profiles; it's a rough day to be a P&G employee.

The 'efficiency' excuse is always the go-to line when leadership wants to inflate margins at the expense of people who built this place. Watching them frame mass layoffs as a 'digital-first' pivot is honestly insulting to those of us who put in the actual labor. It’s clear the focus is entirely on shareholder value now rather than the talent that keeps the wheels turning. I’m sorry you had to witness that atmosphere today; it sounds absolutely brutal.

Six years of dedication gone in a single morning, just like that. This corporate spin about 'efficiency' doesn't make the hallways any less empty or the loss of institutional knowledge any less damaging. They keep pushing these broad, clinical restructurings, but they never seem to account for the impact on team morale or productivity. If you're still there, stay safe and keep your head down. It’s a cold reminder that for them, it’s always just been about the bottom line.
