P&G layoffs - Anyone else seeing a pattern?

Hey everyone, saw the news about the P&G layoffs on 6/11. 1600 employees is a pretty significant number. It got me thinking, is this just a standalone event, or are we seeing a broader trend in the CPG space? Feels like a lot of the big players have been announcing cuts or restructuring lately. Is it the economy, changing consumer habits, or maybe internal inefficiencies catching up? I'm trying to get a sense of whether this is a 'P&G specific' problem or a 'CPG industry' problem. Anyone in a similar role at another CPG company seeing similar shifts or hearing any whispers? Trying to prepare myself and my team for what might be coming.

Definitely a worrying sign to see such a large number of layoffs at P&G. It's hard not to connect the dots with other news from the sector. While the economy is certainly a factor, I also wonder if the company's focus on streamlining has led to this. It makes you question long-term job security for many in the industry.

I've been seeing similar discussions pop up. It's easy to point fingers at the economy, but consumer behavior shifts seem huge right now. Brands that aren't adapting quickly enough to digital and changing preferences might be feeling the pressure. I suspect it's a mix of factors, not just one isolated issue at P&G.
