Severance package - what to expect?

Okay, hypothetical question (for now, hopefully!). If P&G *did* do layoffs, what kind of severance package are we realistically looking at? I've heard whispers of different formulas based on tenure, but nothing concrete. I'm in engineering, been here for 5 years. Trying to get a sense of what my runway would be if the worst happens. Also, does anyone know if they offer outplacement services or help with resume writing? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Heard through the grapevine that P&G typically offers two weeks of pay per year of service, plus accrued vacation time. Sometimes they sweeten the deal depending on your level and the circumstances of the layoff, but that's the base you should expect. Outplacement services are fairly standard, and they'll definitely help you with resume writing and interview skills. Start quietly updating your resume now – it’s always good to be prepared.

Honestly, don't get your hopes up too high based on rumors. Severance packages are always subject to change and dependent on the overall business situation. While 2 weeks per year is possible, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to get away with less. Focus on networking internally and externally NOW. That's a far better investment of your time than stressing about hypotheticals. Good luck!
