I've noticed a similar trend at Progressive. The number of new roles posted for my department has definitely decreased compared to last year. While it's true the market can be unpredictable, the dip feels more substantial than typical seasonal changes. I haven't heard any internal chatter about a hiring freeze, but it does make you wonder if teams are being more cautious with backfills or if there's a strategic shift happening behind the scenes.
From my perspective in a different division, the hiring slowdown at Progressive is quite evident. We've seen fewer requisitions open up in the last quarter, and the urgency to fill existing roles seems to have lessened. It's a bit concerning as it suggests a potential shift in resource allocation or perhaps a more conservative approach to growth. I'm curious to see if this is a company-wide adjustment or specific to certain departments.
