Hang in there. It's completely understandable to be worried when the atmosphere feels tense. While I haven't been through layoffs at PTC specifically, I did experience one at a similar enterprise software company about two years ago. My package was pretty standard: 2 weeks per year of service, plus 3 months of continued health benefits. They also offered some basic outplacement services, which were somewhat helpful for updating my resume. Focus on what you can control right now – updating your LinkedIn, dusting off your resume, and maybe reaching out to your network. It helps to feel a little more prepared.
Honestly, trying to predict severance is a bit of a shot in the dark. Companies vary wildly, even within the same industry. Your best bet is to wait for official news. If it happens, they'll usually have a standard package based on your level and tenure. Sometimes they'll negotiate a bit, but don't count on it. For now, just keep doing your job well. Worrying too much won't change the outcome, but it will definitely make these next few weeks miserable. Good luck, though.
