Bracing for impact - what's a reasonable severance package look like?
Okay, so nothing official has been announced, but the mood here is pretty grim. I'm in a mid-level engineering role, been with PTC for 6 years. If the worst happens, I want to be prepared. Has anyone here gone through layoffs at PTC before? Or maybe at a similar software company recently? What's typical for severance pay (weeks per year of service?), continuation of benefits, outplacement services? Just trying to get a handle on what to expect if I get that dreaded call. Trying not to panic, but also want to be informed. Any insights would be hugely appreciated.
Anyone else feeling the storm clouds gathering at PTC?
Been here about 4 years now, mostly in the Creo side, and things just feel...off lately. The energy in team meetings has changed. Less talk about new projects, more about 'synergies' and 'efficiency'. Heard whispers through the grapevine about budget reviews that felt a little too intense. My manager has been really cagey when asked about team headcount, just says 'we're evaluating all options'. Makes you wonder. Anyone else in other departments picking up on the same vibes? Feels like we're in a holding pattern, waiting for something to drop. Just want to know if I'm being paranoid or if this is widespread.
