Severance package - what to expect?

Hypothetical question here, but what kind of severance packages have people seen in the past during layoffs at Qualcomm? I'm trying to get a realistic idea of what I might be looking at if the worst happens. I'm a staff engineer with 10 years at the company. Is it weeks per year of service, or something else entirely? Does it vary depending on your level? Also, what about benefits like healthcare continuation? COBRA is a killer. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Trying to be prepared, just in case...

It really does vary, but in the past, Qualcomm has generally been fairly generous compared to some other tech companies. For a staff engineer with 10 years, you might expect something around 3-4 months salary, maybe a bit more. Healthcare is usually COBRA, but they often pay for a few months of it. Don't expect miracles, but it shouldn't be terrible. Network like crazy now, just in case.

Honestly, don't get your hopes up too high based on past packages. Companies are always looking for ways to cut costs. While 1 week per year is pretty standard across many companies, tech often does more. I'd try to figure out if your skills are still highly in demand. The stronger your resume, the less you need to depend on the package.
