Raymond James - Performance review season and job security fears

So, performance review season is upon us at RJ, and I'm not going to lie, it feels different this year. Usually, it's just about setting goals and getting feedback, but this time there's an undercurrent of 'how am I tracking against the overall financial picture?' The economic headwinds are pretty obvious to everyone, and management isn't exactly downplaying them. It's leading to a lot of anxiety about what happens *after* the reviews. Anyone else feeling like their job security is more on the line than usual right now? Wondering if the reviews are being used more as a gauge for potential cuts down the line, even if nothing is announced yet. Just looking for some commiseration or insights if anyone has them.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling the same way. The usual post-review chat about development feels overshadowed by hushed conversations about headcount and potential restructuring. It’s hard to focus on growth when you’re constantly scanning the horizon for storm clouds. The market’s been tough, and it feels like everyone’s bracing for impact, whether it’s a bonus cut or something more drastic. Just trying to keep my head down and do good work, but the uncertainty is palpable.
