Maybe I’m just paranoid, but the energy in the office has shifted significantly over the past two weeks. I was in a meeting yesterday and noticed the directors were noticeably evasive when someone asked about the Q4 roadmap and resource allocation. Usually, they have a canned response ready, but today it was all 'let's focus on current deliverables' and 'things are fluid.' I’ve been through a re-org before, and this is exactly how it starts before the calendar invites go out on a Thursday afternoon. If they’re planning something, I’d rather know now than wait for the vague 'restructuring' email. Has anyone heard whispers from HR or upper management about potential shifts coming down the pipeline?

I’ve noticed the same exact thing. That specific 'let’s focus on current deliverables' line is the ultimate red flag. Every time leadership starts dodging roadmap questions, it’s usually because the budget is being slashed behind closed doors. Keep your resume updated and make sure you have local copies of anything important. It’s never a good sign when they stop pretending the long-term vision is secure.
