Another Round at Rivian - What's the Strategy?

Just saw the news about another round of layoffs at Rivian. This is getting concerning. Feels like every few months there's a new announcement. Last year it was 10%, then 6%, now more. Anyone have intel on what's driving this? Are they struggling with production targets, demand, or just general EV market turbulence? I'm on the fence about whether to stay or start looking elsewhere. The morale around here is definitely taking a hit with each announcement. It's hard to feel secure when the axe keeps falling. Trying to understand the long-term vision, but it's hard with all this uncertainty. Is this a sign of deeper issues, or just the rough patch the auto industry is going through? Wondering if anyone has heard any specific department impacts or reasons from internal comms.

It's definitely a worrying trend. The constant restructuring makes it tough to build confidence in the company's long-term stability. I'm curious if this is a deliberate strategy to streamline operations and cut costs before a major push, or if it's a reactive measure to market pressures. The uncertainty is palpable, and it's understandable why people are feeling anxious about their positions and the overall direction.

The news about the layoffs is unsettling, no doubt. I've been trying to stay optimistic, but these repeated announcements are hard to ignore. My hope is that management has a clear, communicated plan for how these changes will ultimately benefit the company and its employees. Without that transparency, it's natural for morale to dip and for people to question the path forward. Let's hope for some clarity soon.
