Severance Package - What to expect?

Hypothetically speaking, if Rivian were to do layoffs, what do you think the severance package would look like? I'm in software engineering, level 3, been here for 2.5 years. I've heard whispers of 2 weeks per year of service, plus accrued PTO payout. Is that standard? Trying to prepare myself, just in case. Also, does anyone know if they'd offer outplacement services? I've never been through a layoff before, so any info would be super helpful. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, the 2 weeks per year of service sounds about right for the industry, plus PTO. My friend at Ford got something similar last year. Outplacement services are hit or miss, but definitely ask about it. Start updating your resume NOW, network like crazy, and be prepared to file for unemployment ASAP if it happens. Good luck!

I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch. All this speculation is just going to stress you out. Focus on doing your job well and making yourself indispensable. If layoffs do happen, the details are usually kept pretty quiet until the announcement. Don't spread rumors, and don't assume anything based on what you 'heard.' Just my two cents.
