Just got the news and my team in Menlo Park is pretty much wiped out. 63 people is a significant chunk, and it feels like more than half of us are gone. Management keeps talking about 'streamlining' and 'efficiency,' but it feels like they're just gutting departments. No real clear explanation, just a lot of corporate speak. We were working on some pretty critical infrastructure projects, and now I have no idea who's going to pick them up. Feels like a complete mess and a total slap in the face after all the hard work. Anyone else's teams get decimated?

That's incredibly rough news. Losing so many colleagues, especially on critical projects, must create a ton of uncertainty and extra work for those remaining. The 'streamlining' and 'efficiency' buzzwords often mask deeper issues, and it's disheartening when the impact on the people doing the work isn't prioritized. Hope you and your remaining teammates can find a way to navigate this difficult period and keep those essential projects moving forward, even with the added pressure.
