Anyone else feeling like the walls are closing in?

I’ve been with Ross for a few years now, and the vibe has shifted significantly since the summer. It feels like every week there’s a new 'optimization' initiative that just translates to more work for the remaining people after someone gets pushed out. After that Portland announcement, the silence in the office is deafening. Nobody wants to speak up in meetings because we’re all terrified that being the one to ask a 'difficult question' is a quick way to land on the next layoff list. I spent my whole morning updating my resume instead of actually working on my deliverables. It’s unsustainable. We are constantly told to do more with less, but eventually, the 'less' means the systems literally stop functioning. Is anyone else looking for an exit strategy, or are you all just hunkering down and riding it out? I don't know how much longer I can deal with the uncertainty.

I’ve been feeling the exact same way. It’s like the company culture has completely evaporated, replaced by this constant, low-level panic. You can feel the tension in every meeting—everyone is just keeping their head down, doing their tasks, and hoping they aren't the next one to receive a calendar invite from HR. It’s draining to walk into an environment where you can't even voice a professional concern without fearing for your livelihood. I've started polishing my resume because waiting for the other shoe to drop isn't sustainable for my mental health.

Honestly, the shift since the summer has been brutal. It feels less like a workplace and more like a waiting room for the next round of cuts. Management keeps talking about 'efficiency' and 'optimization,' but we all know that’s just corporate speak for doing three people’s jobs while looking over our shoulders. The silence you’re describing is real; nobody trusts anyone anymore. It’s incredibly isolating when you can’t even have an honest conversation with your team about the direction of the company. I think we’re all just burnt out from living in this perpetual state of uncertainty.
