I hear you. Been on the retail side for a couple years now, and the same whispers are going around. There's been a noticeable shift in how inventory is being managed, and product availability feels more erratic than usual. When you ask questions, you get the same vague corporate speak about 'optimization' and 'streamlining.' It's definitely unsettling when the people in charge are so tight-lipped. My team's morale has taken a hit because of the uncertainty. Hope you get some clarity soon.
I'm not sure I'm feeling the same 'weird vibe.' While I appreciate the desire for transparency, management at my location has been pretty upfront about upcoming changes, albeit couched in business jargon. We're seeing some adjustments to staffing models and a push for more automation in certain areas, which is probably what the 'operational efficiencies' talk is about. It's a big company; changes are inevitable. Focus on what you can control within your own role.
