Layoff Report

Anyone else hear rumblings about more layoffs outside of OR?

It’s been radio silence from corporate since the Portland announcement on the 16th. My manager is acting like everything is business as usual, but the energy in the office is absolutely dead. We’re all sitting here waiting for the other shoe to drop. Has anyone heard if this is just localized to the Oregon facilities, or are we looking at a phased approach across other regions? My team is terrified that the 249 number is just the first wave to appease investors before Q4. If you have any internal info or are hearing anything from leadership in your departments, please share. I’m starting to update my resume tonight regardless, because waiting around for a calendar invite titled 'Important Business Update' is not how I want to spend my summer.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an official memo. Corporate usually plays this game by keeping everyone in the dark until the very last second. If you’re looking for transparency, you aren’t going to find it from management. Start polishing your resume now, because the vibe at these facilities rarely improves once rumors start circulating. Most of us are already assuming it's a phased rollout, so don't be surprised if your region is next on the chopping block.

Honestly, the silence is the loudest message they could send. It’s classic corporate strategy to act like it's business as usual while they tighten the belt behind closed doors. Don’t wait for them to confirm your suspicions or give you a heads-up; protect your own interests and keep your eyes open for other opportunities. If the goal is hitting those Q4 numbers for the investors, no one is safe. Trust your gut—the energy in the building is usually a better indicator than anything coming from the top.
