Ross Stores - Anyone else noticing more 'efficiency' drives lately?

Hey everyone, Been with Ross for a few years now, mostly in the back-end operations side. Lately, it feels like every other week there's a new 'initiative' or 'efficiency drive' being pushed down. We're constantly being asked to do more with less, and the productivity metrics seem to keep climbing. I get that retail is a tough business, but the pace feels unsustainable. There's been a lot of talk about streamlining processes, which usually translates to fewer people doing more work. I haven't seen any official layoff announcements, and honestly, that's what's making me nervous. It's the quiet stuff, the constant pressure to perform higher with fewer resources, that feels like a precursor to something. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is this just the usual retail grind, or does it feel like something more is brewing? Trying to get a pulse on the general sentiment out there. Just want to know if I'm overthinking it or if others are seeing the same signs. Let me know your thoughts.

Yeah, I've definitely felt that too, even on the sales floor. It seems like we're always trying to speed things up, whether it's getting go-backs processed faster or hitting certain transaction goals. Management is always talking about 'optimization,' which I think is just code for 'get it done with fewer resources.' It's making the job pretty stressful lately, to be honest.

Interesting you bring that up. I haven't been there as long, but I've noticed the pressure to be faster and more 'efficient' as well. It feels like the expectations are constantly shifting, and it's hard to keep up. I'm curious to see how long this trend continues or if things will settle down at some point.
