Hey there, totally get why you're asking. Re-orgs can definitely make you nervous. While I haven't personally received severance from Ross, I've heard from friends in retail who have. It often depends heavily on your role and tenure. Some places offer a set number of weeks per year of service, plus continuing benefits for a short period. Others might be more about a lump sum. It's probably worth looking through any employee handbooks you might have access to, or even discreetly asking HR about company policy in general terms, framed as a hypothetical "what if" scenario.
Honestly, with the way retail has been, I wouldn't get your hopes up for a massive payout from Ross. They're usually pretty lean. It's more likely to be the bare minimum allowed by law, maybe a couple of weeks per year if you're lucky. Don't rely on it as a safety net. The best thing you can do is keep your resume updated and network constantly. If something does happen, you'll be better prepared to find something else quickly rather than waiting on a severance check. Focus on what you can control.
