Severance packages for the Portland crew - how are they looking?

Watching the news about the Portland location hit the WARN notice yesterday was brutal. Does anyone know if they are actually offering decent severance or if they are just doing the bare minimum to clear out the headcounts by September 20th? I’ve been with Ross for a few years and the way things are moving feels increasingly transactional. If you’re one of the folks affected by the recent 249 cut, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. If you’re comfortable sharing details on what they’re offering (COBRA coverage, lump sum, career counseling, etc.), it would help the rest of us understand what our exit runway looks like if the writing is on the wall. Stay strong out there, and don't let them make you feel like this is a personal failure.

I'm really sorry to hear about the Portland location. Honestly, don't hold your breath for anything beyond the bare minimum. From what I’ve seen with previous closures, corporate usually sticks strictly to the policy and rarely goes above and beyond to support the staff being displaced. It's incredibly frustrating how they handle these transitions, especially for those of you who have put in years of hard work. Make sure to double-check your local labor laws and consult your paperwork before signing anything they hand you, as they definitely won't be looking out for your best interests during this process.

It is honestly disgusting how they treat people who have been loyal for years. After putting in so much time and effort, being treated as just another line item on a spreadsheet that needs to be deleted is a massive slap in the face. If you were part of that group, please take your time reviewing whatever severance document they send over—don't let them pressure you into a quick signature. You deserve better than whatever scraps they are likely planning to toss your way. Wishing you all the best of luck in finding something much more stable and respectful than this.
