Anyone else feel like the culture is completely dead?

I’ve been with Schlumberger for a while now, and the vibe has shifted from 'we’re the industry leader' to 'just keep your head down and hope you aren't picked.' It’s impossible to plan a future here when they’re pulling these small, localized layoffs every few weeks. We keep hearing about the big picture strategy and digital transformation, but none of that matters when you're watching your colleagues get walked out. It’s hard to stay motivated to hit project KPIs when there’s zero job security. Is anyone else noticing that the veteran engineers are starting to quietly jump ship? The talent drain is real, and the ones left behind are just picking up the slack until the next round of cuts hits. It’s a race to the bottom at this point.

Honestly, it feels like the company lost its soul somewhere between the rebrand and the constant cost-cutting initiatives. I remember when being here actually meant something, but now it’s just a revolving door of middle management shifting responsibilities to keep the stock price stable. The digital transformation talk is just a distraction from the fact that they’ve hollowed out the talent pool. I stopped caring about KPIs months ago; I’m just waiting for my vest date so I can finally get out of this place for good.

I hear you. It’s exhausting watching the cycle of 'restructuring' every quarter. They expect total loyalty and peak performance, yet they treat employees like disposable line items on a balance sheet. The strategy sessions feel like a bad joke when people are looking over their shoulders every morning waiting for an email from HR. It wasn't always this cold, but the current atmosphere makes it impossible to feel invested in the long-term vision. Keep your resume polished and prioritize your own sanity over these impossible deadlines.
