Quiet cuts in Dubuque? Just the tip of the iceberg?

Saw the recent WARN notice for the Dubuque site. Only two people listed, which honestly feels like a drop in the bucket compared to what we’ve been hearing in the halls lately. It’s always the same song and dance—leadership claims it’s a localized restructuring, but we know how this goes. They prune a few here and there to avoid hitting the big WARN reporting thresholds elsewhere, hoping nobody notices the slow bleed. Is anyone else seeing this same pattern at other hubs? I’m hearing rumblings about performance reviews being used as a convenient filter to thin the herd before the fiscal year-end. If you’re at a smaller site, are they keeping things quiet, or is it getting noticeably sparse in your office? I’m trying to figure out if it’s time to start polishing the resume or if this is just standard quarterly noise. The uncertainty is getting old fast.

This is standard operating procedure for the company. They are experts at salami slicing the workforce to keep the numbers just below those mandatory reporting triggers. If you look at the last few quarters, it’s clearly a calculated strategy to downsize without triggering a massive public relations headache. Don’t trust the localized restructuring narrative; the slow bleed is the strategy, and it’s likely happening at every major hub while they wait for the next market cycle to stabilize. Keep your resume polished because this isn't ending in Dubuque.
