Schlumberger - Anyone else on hiring freeze patrol?

Been trying to get some essential headcount approved for my team for weeks now and it's just dead air. Every time I push, it's 'under review' or 'budget constraints.' We're already stretched thin and this is starting to impact project timelines. Is this a company-wide thing or just my division? Anyone in HR or management see this happening elsewhere? Feels like they're holding their breath on everything. Could be strategic, could be a precursor to something else. Just trying to understand the internal hiring climate. Has anyone been told directly that there's a hiring freeze in place, even if it's unofficial? Trying to plan workload and it's becoming increasingly difficult with this uncertainty. Any intel would be helpful.
