Schlumberger - What's the vibe at HQ and the tech centers?

Been hearing a lot of chatter from the field about things being tense, which is understandable given the market. But I'm curious about what it's like for those of you not out on rigs or in remote operations. Is there a noticeable slowdown in projects, a shift in priorities, or just general unease filtering down to the engineering, R&D, and corporate folks? Are there any whispers about restructuring or budget reviews that aren't making it to the front lines? Trying to get a broader picture beyond the operational side. Any insights would be appreciated, even if it's just anecdotal. Just want to gauge the overall health and direction of the company from different perspectives.

From what I've seen at one of the tech centers, it feels like a bit of a mixed bag. There's definitely a focus on efficiency and cost optimization, which means some projects are being re-evaluated or scaled back. However, the core R&D into next-gen technologies is still pushing forward, albeit with more scrutiny. It's not outright panic, but a heightened awareness of the market conditions is definitely present in day-to-day discussions and project planning.

At HQ, the atmosphere is definitely more subdued than usual. There's a constant undercurrent of meetings and strategy sessions, and it's clear management is navigating some choppy waters. Budget reviews are a regular occurrence, and while no major restructuring announcements have been made, there's a palpable sense that the company is looking to streamline operations and focus resources on areas with the most immediate return. It’s a period of careful management, for sure.
