SLB - Anybody else feeling the pinch? Layoff whispers getting louder.

Hey everyone, been seeing some concerning trends at SLB lately. Been with the company for a few years now, and while there haven't been any official announcements, the vibe feels...off. A lot of folks are talking about 'efficiency drives' and 'restructuring,' but it's starting to feel like a soft layoff is in progress. My department has seen a few unexpected departures, not exactly retirements, if you know what I mean. People are getting put on performance improvement plans that seem a bit arbitrary, and there's a general sense of unease. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there specific divisions or regions that are being hit harder? Trying to get a clearer picture of what's really going on before things get worse.

Yeah, I've definitely heard the same chatter. It's unnerving to feel that kind of uncertainty hanging over the company, especially when you're dedicated to the work. Performance improvement plans can feel like a loaded gun, and the 'efficiency' buzzwords can often mask something more substantial happening behind closed doors. Hoping for some clarity soon, but the gut feeling isn't great.

It's tough when the atmosphere shifts like that. Feels like management is playing a game of 'will they, won't they' with people's careers. The informal departures and the increased scrutiny on performance are classic signs, unfortunately. Just trying to stay focused and do the job well, but it's hard not to worry when you see colleagues starting to look over their shoulders. Let's hope it's just a bumpy period.
