Just got the email notification about an hour ago. 63 people total, mostly localized here in the San Diego office. It feels like the 'growth at all costs' era is officially behind us and we've shifted into this weird, hyper-conservative mode where they just prune the headcount every few months to keep the stock price looking pretty for Wall Street. I’ve been here for three years and it’s honestly exhausting watching the culture dissolve. It used to feel like a place where you could build something meaningful, but now it’s just quarterly anxiety. Everyone is currently staring at their calendars waiting for the follow-up meeting invites. If your calendar is clear, consider yourself lucky for today. For those of us still here, the workload for the remaining team is already being redistributed. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly wondering if you’re next on the spreadsheet. Has anyone heard if this is just San Diego, or are other hubs seeing similar activity this morning?

I am so sorry to hear this. It feels like every tech company is playing the same tired game right now, prioritizing quarterly margins over the people who actually built the platform. Three years is a significant chunk of your career to watch evaporate into 'efficiency' metrics. Please take care of yourself during this transition and reach out to your network—there are a lot of people in the same boat right now who are more than willing to help with referrals or advice. The culture shift you're describing is definitely being felt across the entire industry.

Honestly, this is the reality of ServiceNow these days. It’s no longer about innovation or the employee experience; it’s just a quarterly spreadsheet exercise to satisfy analysts. When management treats headcount like a dial to turn up or down based on stock sentiment, the trust disappears almost instantly. It’s a shame because the platform itself is powerful, but the internal atmosphere has become incredibly toxic. Don't let this place define your worth. Use this time to disconnect and find a team that actually values human capital instead of viewing it as a line item to be cut.
