Is the hiring freeze real? Saw a job posting disappear overnight.

Hey all, been at Snowflake for about 3 years now, SDE II on the core platform team. This past week, I noticed a senior engineer role I was tracking on the internal job board just vanished. No explanation, no update. Usually, if a role is put on hold, it gets a status update. This one just...poof. Anyone else seeing this? Feels like more than just a temporary pause, maybe a deeper hiring freeze or budget cut we're not being told about? Trying not to panic, but it's hard when things get this quiet. Curious if anyone in recruiting or leadership can shed any light, even anonymously. Wondering if I should even bother applying for internal roles right now.

Yeah, I saw a couple of postings disappear from our internal site too. It's definitely concerning. Usually, there's at least a note or a status change, but these just vanished. Management's been pretty tight-lipped lately, which only adds to the anxiety. I'm hoping it's just a temporary realignment of priorities or a brief budget review, but the lack of communication is making people nervous. Hang in there, hopefully, we'll get some clarity soon.

Could be a simple HR error, or maybe the roles were filled faster than anticipated and the postings were taken down prematurely. Not everything that vanishes overnight is a sign of doom. Companies move fast, and sometimes the internal processes aren't as transparent as we'd like. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about a full-blown freeze just yet. Focus on your work, and if it becomes a pattern, then maybe start asking more pointed questions.
