Just went through a grueling interview process for a Senior Data Engineer role at Snowflake. Four rounds, including a system design interview that felt like I was designing the next generation of databases from scratch. Then, they ghosted me for two weeks! Finally got a rejection email, and the reason? 'We decided to go with someone who has more experience with our specific technology stack.' Seriously? The job description mentioned experience with *similar* technologies was fine. Felt like they wasted my time. Prepare to be grilled if you're interviewing there. And don't expect timely communication.

That's rough, buddy. I've heard similar things about Snowflake's interview process. They seem to have a very specific ideal candidate in mind, and if you don't check every single box, it doesn't matter how strong you are in general. Don't take it too personally; it's more about their rigid requirements than your actual skillset. Brush it off and keep applying. Something better will come along.

Hmm, while it's frustrating to be rejected, especially after that much effort, it's also possible they had legitimate reasons. 'Similar technologies' can be subjective. Maybe the other candidate had deeper experience with a key component they rely on heavily. Two weeks is a bit long to wait for a rejection, but tech companies are often swamped. Focus on getting feedback if possible and using it to sharpen your skills for the next interview.
