The uncertainty is definitely thick right now. I’ve noticed the same thing regarding the project roadmaps; leadership is being unusually cagey about anything beyond the next three months. Usually, when they start dodging questions about long-term planning, it’s a sign that they are prepping for a reorg or budget reallocations to hit those fiscal targets. I’d advise keeping your resume updated and networking quietly outside the company just in case. It’s better to be prepared and find out it’s just rumors than to be caught off guard if things shift suddenly.
Honestly, take a deep breath. Every time we approach the end of a fiscal quarter, these same whispers start making the rounds on the internal channels and Slack. It’s easy to read into a manager's hesitation when they are just as in the dark as we are. Unless there is an official memo from the top, most of this is just standard corporate chatter fueled by anxiety. Focus on delivering your current projects and keeping your metrics high. Rumors like this are a waste of energy unless there’s actual data to back them up.
