I haven't heard direct confirmation about a hiring freeze, but I've definitely noticed things slowing down on the hiring front in my department. Some roles that were open for a while are now either on hold or being re-evaluated. The budget conversations do seem a bit more intense than usual, with a greater focus on efficiency and prioritizing existing projects. It’s not a definite freeze, but the signals are there that things might be tightening up.
Interesting you mention that. I'm in a different division, but we've also been told to be mindful of spending and that any new headcount requests need significant justification. While not explicitly a freeze, it feels like a strong de facto one in practice. Recruiters are definitely quieter, and the usual back-and-forth for new positions seems to have stalled. It's making long-term planning a bit tricky.
