Internal mobility options drying up?

Hey all. I've been thinking about making a move internally within S&P Global for a while now. Been in my current role for about 3 years and feel like I've hit a plateau. However, I've noticed over the last couple of months that the internal job board seems much less active than usual. The few positions that *do* pop up seem to get a ridiculous amount of applicants, and my HR contact has been pretty non-committal when I've asked about future openings or the general hiring landscape. It feels like doors are closing, or at least becoming a lot harder to open. Is anyone else seeing this? Is the company pulling back on internal transfers as well, or am I just being paranoid?

I've noticed the same thing lately. It's definitely a bit discouraging when you're looking to grow within the company and the opportunities seem to be shrinking. I've been trying to network more and have informal chats with people in other departments to see what might be opening up down the line, even if it's not posted yet. Sometimes those connections can lead to insights you wouldn't get from the job board alone. Hang in there!

Yeah, the internal market feels pretty tight right now. I was eyeing a role a few weeks back, and it was gone within days with hundreds of applicants. My sense is that many teams are holding onto talent and being very cautious about backfilling. It might be worth exploring external opportunities if internal moves aren't panning out, or maybe focusing on upskilling in your current role to make yourself indispensable until things pick up.
