Post-integration jitters at SPGI?

Long-time employee here, working in one of the divisions affected by the IHS Markit acquisition. While the official line is that integration is going smoothly, I'm seeing a lot of duplicated efforts and some departments that seem... bloated. We're hearing a lot about 'streamlining' and 'efficiencies', which is corporate speak for 'we might be looking at headcount'. There hasn't been any official announcement, and our direct managers are tight-lipped, but you can feel the tension. People are asking questions, but getting very non-committal answers. I've seen a few people quietly updating their LinkedIn profiles, which is never a good sign. Just wondering if anyone else in a similar boat is feeling this pressure or has heard any whispers? It’s hard to focus on the day-to-day when you’re wondering if your role is secure.

I've also been with SPGI for a while, and I can confirm there's definitely an undercurrent of unease. The IHS Markit integration has been massive, and while I understand that process takes time, the lack of clear communication is unsettling. You hear whispers about restructuring, but nothing concrete. People are understandably anxious about job security, especially with the 'synergy' talk. Hoping for some clarity soon, but for now, it's a lot of speculation.

From my perspective, it's business as usual. Integrations are always complex, and there will be bumps along the road. The focus on 'streamlining' and 'efficiencies' sounds like standard post-merger activity to me. It's easy to get caught up in the rumor mill, but until there's an official announcement, I'm trying to stay focused on my work and trust that leadership has a plan. It's a big company, and these things take time to settle.
