S&P Global - Performance review cycle and headcount concerns

Hey everyone, with the recent performance review cycle wrapping up at SPGI, I've been hearing a lot of chatter about potential 'adjustments' or 'reorganizations' that might be coming down the pipe. My manager has been really cagey about specifics, just talking about 'aligning resources' and 'strategic priorities'. My team has been hitting targets, so it's not performance-related for us, but there's definitely a vibe of uncertainty. Seeing some colleagues' roles being 'evaluated' and a general slowdown in new hiring is making me nervous. Anyone else in a similar boat or hearing anything concrete about what these 'alignments' might entail? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or just localized to certain departments. Feels like the calm before a storm, and I'm not sure if I should be polishing my resume or just bracing myself.

Yeah, I'm feeling that uncertainty too. My department hasn't been explicitly told anything, but the general atmosphere feels tense. 'Strategic priorities' and 'resource alignment' seem to be the buzzwords for pretty much any change these days, which makes it hard to gauge what's actually happening. It's frustrating when management isn't more transparent, especially when teams are performing well. Hopefully, it's just standard end-of-cycle adjustments and not something more disruptive.

Totally get the 'cagey' vibe. My manager's been dropping similar phrases about 'optimizing our structure' and 'future-proofing'. It's unnerving, especially when you're not seeing any performance issues within your own team. It makes you wonder if it's more about portfolio shifts or consolidation than individual or team output. Trying to stay focused on the work, but the whispers are hard to ignore.
