Anyone else notice weird comms post-last hiring freeze?

Hey all, been at Stripe for a couple years now and things have felt... off since the last hiring pause. It's not just one thing, but a general feeling of things being less transparent. All-hands are shorter, skip-level meetings feel more like PR sessions than actual feedback opportunities. There was that weird duck image thing that went around a while back, which everyone chalked up to a mistake, but it just added to this general sense of disarray. Anyone else feeling this? Are people expecting further cuts or just a general slowdown/restructuring?

Yeah, I've definitely noticed a shift. It feels like there's more of an emphasis on 'company messaging' and less genuine dialogue lately. All-hands used to be a place where you felt you could ask tough questions, but now it seems more curated. The duck image was definitely bizarre and didn't help. It creates a strange atmosphere when you're trying to understand the direction things are going. Feels like we're all just trying to read between the lines more than usual.
