Okay, so is anyone else still weirded out by that duck email that apparently went out with some layoff notices? I saw the HN threads [0, 1, 2] about it. Honestly, if layoffs *are* happening or have happened, that's a seriously tone-deaf way to handle it. Like, you're letting people go, and you send a *duck*? What kind of message does that even send? Is it supposed to be a joke? A consolation prize? Super unprofessional if true. Makes me question the internal culture if that's the kind of comms that goes out during sensitive times. Anyone have the inside scoop or more context on why that happened? Seems like a massive communication fail, regardless of the layoff situation itself.

Yeah, I saw the same discussions. If that duck email is legit, it's a bafflingly insensitive choice for something as serious as layoffs. It trivializes a really tough situation for those affected.
