5k T-Mobile Layoffs - Is This the Merger Hangover or Something Else?

Another 5,000 people out the door at T-Mobile as of June 7th. This feels like a pattern now, doesn't it? They keep talking about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining,' but it always seems to translate to fewer jobs. Remember all the talk about the Sprint merger creating jobs? Yeah, that didn't quite pan out for thousands of us. This latest round makes me wonder what the long-term strategy is. Are they just consolidating and cutting costs indefinitely, or is there a new direction? It’s hard to stay loyal to a company that seems to prioritize short-term financial gains over its workforce. Anyone have insights into why this keeps happening?

This is incredibly concerning. The repeated rounds of layoffs, especially after the merger promised synergies and growth, really shakes confidence. It feels less like 'streamlining' and more like a steady erosion of the workforce. I understand companies need to adapt, but the constant reduction in staff is worrying for morale and the overall stability of the company. What happens when there aren't enough people left to do the work efficiently?

The 'merger hangover' narrative is getting old. Every company goes through integration challenges, but T-Mobile seems to have made significant workforce reductions a recurring theme. It's disheartening to see so many people impacted. The constant focus on cost-cutting through layoffs makes it difficult to trust their public statements about future growth. I hope they have a clear, sustainable plan beyond just shedding employees.
