T-Mobile cutting jobs again - what's the strategy?

Heard about another round of layoffs at T-Mobile, apparently around 5k people according to some news. This is wild. We keep hearing about how well the company is doing financially, profits are up, and yet here we are, another significant reduction in force. It really makes you wonder what the long-term plan is. Are they just trying to squeeze every last drop out of the Sprint merger synergies and then what? The Sprint merger was sold to us as a job-creating event, but looking back, it feels like it was primarily about consolidation and job elimination. Just trying to understand the bigger picture here. Anyone else in a similar boat or have any insights into the business strategy behind these cuts?

This is definitely concerning. The narrative around the Sprint merger was always about growth and job creation, so seeing these repeated layoffs, especially after positive financial reports, is jarring. It's hard not to question the long-term vision. Are they prioritizing shareholder value above all else, or is there a strategic shift happening that isn't being communicated clearly? It feels like a constant state of 'restructuring' without a solid explanation for employees on the ground. Makes you wonder about job security for those remaining.**
