Anyone else hit in the May 29th wave? Trying to find my people

Woke up to the invite for the 'organizational update' meeting this morning and I knew immediately. I’ve been with Target for six years in the Minneapolis corporate office, and honestly, the mood has been toxic for months. They keep talking about 'streamlining for the future,' but it really just feels like they’re gutting the teams that actually hold the place together. I didn’t even get a chance to log off before my access was revoked. Does anyone know if they are actually giving decent severance, or is it the bare minimum? I’m seeing people saying it's 500 roles total, but it feels like the internal comms were super vague about who exactly is impacted. I’m just frustrated—my performance reviews were all top-tier and my lead told me I was 'essential' three weeks ago. Corporate retail is a meat grinder. If anyone has tips on the severance paperwork or if we need to sign something specifically to keep our benefits through the end of the month, please let me know. I’m currently staring at my laptop trying to figure out how to update my resume when I don't even have my files anymore.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I was caught in the same wave this morning. Six years is a huge chunk of your life to give to a company, and being locked out so abruptly is just cruel. I haven't seen the final paperwork yet, but from what I’ve heard circulating, the severance is standard but definitely not reflective of the loyalty we showed them. Keep your head up, reach out to your network now before you lose those connections, and take a minute to just breathe. This wasn't about your performance; it was just a cold numbers game.
