Target's strategy shifts - what does it mean for us?

Another round of layoffs at Target, 500 this time. It's becoming a pattern. The last big one was 1800 corporate jobs not too long ago. It makes you wonder what the long-term strategy is. Are they really committed to their corporate workforce or is this just a cost-cutting measure that will continue indefinitely? I've been with Target for a few years now and have seen a lot of changes, but these recent cuts feel different, more aggressive. Are other large retailers doing the same? It feels like a constant state of flux and it's hard to feel secure in your role. Just trying to process what this means for career growth and stability within the company. Anyone else feeling this unease?

Target layoffs - Any word on departments affected?

Just saw the news about Target cutting another 500 jobs. This feels like it's becoming a regular thing with them. Anyone know which teams or departments are taking the biggest hits this time around? It's hard to get a clear picture from the news reports. Feels like corporate is shrinking rapidly. Wondering if this is a sign of bigger issues to come or just typical restructuring. I'm in the [redacted] department and haven't heard anything concrete yet, but the uncertainty is definitely stressful. Trying to stay optimistic but it's tough when you see these numbers. Curious to hear from anyone who might have more inside information or who has been impacted directly. Stay strong, everyone.

Anyone else hearing whispers about more cuts coming?

Hey folks, just saw the news about the 500 layoffs on the 29th. Honestly, it's making me nervous. I've been with Target for 7 years, working in inventory management at the distribution center. We've had some 'reorgs' before, but this feels different, more widespread. It's hard to not feel like a target myself, you know? My team is already stretched thin, and I can't imagine how they're going to handle even more. Is anyone else's department feeling the pressure? Seeing people go from other areas makes you wonder who's next. Trying to stay positive but it's tough right now.

Rant: Overworked and Underappreciated

I'm so burnt out. I'm on the store operations team, and we've been running ragged ever since the holidays. It feels like corporate keeps piling on more responsibilities without any additional support. We're constantly short-staffed, dealing with angry customers, and now I'm hearing rumors about budget cuts? Seriously? We're the ones on the front lines keeping this company afloat, and we're treated like we're disposable. I'm starting to look for other jobs, I can't keep doing this. This isn't the Target I signed up for.

Severance Package Question - Anyone Have Experience?

Hypothetically speaking, if Target were to do layoffs, what kind of severance package could we expect? I'm in a senior analyst role (Marketing) and have been with the company for 4 years. I've heard whispers of 2 weeks per year of service, but I'm curious if anyone has first-hand knowledge from previous restructurings, either at Target or similar companies. Trying to get a sense of what my options might be if the worst happens. Any insight is appreciated!

Anyone else feel like morale is in the toilet lately?

I've been at Target (HQ, Minneapolis) for 7 years now, in a Tech team supporting supply chain. Used to love it here, great culture, felt like we were actually making a difference. Lately though, things feel...off. Everyone's on edge, projects are getting cancelled left and right, and there's this constant low-level hum of anxiety. Our team lead mentioned something vague about "restructuring" but wouldn't elaborate. Anyone else experiencing this? Am I just being paranoid, or are we bracing for something big?

Rant: They're really pushing us to do MORE with LESS!

I'm so burned out. The workload has been insane lately, and they just keep piling on more. My team's already short-staffed, and they're talking about 'efficiency improvements' which translates to 'doing three people's jobs.' I know retail is always demanding, but this is beyond ridiculous. The constant pressure to hit unrealistic targets while they cut resources is making me want to scream. Seriously considering dusting off my resume. Anyone else feeling this way?

Severance package - is it negotiable?

Hypothetically speaking, if Target were to offer a severance package due to, say, restructuring... is there any wiggle room? I'm in a specialist role on the tech side, been here for 3 years. I've heard whispers that the standard is 2 weeks per year of service, but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience negotiating for more. Like, leveraging unvested stock options or unused PTO, etc. Any insight would be appreciated. Trying to plan ahead just in case.

Anyone else feeling uneasy in HQ? Just a vibe, or something more?

I've been with Target for almost 8 years now, mostly in marketing analytics at HQ. Usually, things are pretty chill, but lately, there's been this weird tension in the air. Lots of closed-door meetings, hushed conversations near the coffee machine, and people suddenly disappearing from group chats. Maybe it's just me being paranoid, but it feels like the kind of vibe you get right before a reorg or... worse. Anyone else picking up on this? Or am I just doom-scrolling too much news?
