The disconnect between 'growth' and these silent cuts

It’s honestly insulting to sit through the quarterly updates about our 'unprecedented digital transformation' and 'strategic efficiency' while seeing colleagues get walked out the door. How does management reconcile pushing for hyper-growth and complex project delivery while simultaneously gutting the very teams responsible for executing that work? Every time someone gets cut, the remaining staff just inherits their workload with zero adjustment to the actual output expectations. We’re being asked to do more with less for the third year in a row, and at this point, the burnout is palpable. Are we really 'optimizing' or are we just slowly cannibalizing the company culture until nothing is left but automated dashboards and middle managers who don't know how to do the actual job? I'm tired of the corporate speak masking the fact that there's no long-term plan here besides cutting payroll costs to make the balance sheet look better for a few months.

It’s the classic corporate treadmill. They talk about 'agility' and 'lean operations' as buzzwords to cover up the fact that they’re running the place on fumes. You can’t keep squeezing the remaining staff to cover for those they let go and expect the same level of quality or morale. Eventually, the cracks start to show, and the 'digital transformation' just becomes a fancy way of saying everything is breaking while they celebrate record efficiency on paper. It’s unsustainable, but they never seem to care until the turnover rate hits a breaking point.

I feel this deeply. We are constantly told we’re a priority and a crucial part of the future, but the second the quarterly margins look even slightly soft, those values go right out the window. Watching talented people get cut while the leadership team keeps patting themselves on the back for 'strategic pivots' is beyond frustrating. The workload doesn't shrink; it just gets dumped on the people left behind. At this point, the mission statement is just a cruel joke played on those of us still holding the bag.
