Target layoffs - what's going on in corporate?

Saw the news about another 500 jobs cut at Target on May 29th. This is on top of the 1800 last year. It feels like the axe is just constantly falling in corporate. Anyone know what's driving this? Is it restructuring, performance issues, or something else? I'm in a corporate role myself and it's making me incredibly anxious. It's hard to feel secure when these large numbers keep getting announced. Trying to understand if there's a pattern or if it's just random bad luck. Are people seeing this impact their teams directly? Any insights from those closer to the ground would be appreciated.
