Just saw the news about another 500 people let go at Target on May 29th. This is getting brutal. It feels like every few months there's another wave. Makes you really start to question job security, even in a company that seemed stable. I'm a few rungs down from corporate, but you hear whispers. Are they consolidating departments? Trying to cut costs before some big internal announcement? Or is this just the new normal for retail giants? It’s hard not to feel uneasy when you see these numbers. I've been here a while, and it used to feel like you could build a career. Now it just feels like you're walking on eggshells. Anyone else feeling this? Any insights from those closer to the corporate level on what's driving these decisions?

This is definitely concerning. Layoffs on this scale, especially repeated ones, always spark worry. It's hard not to speculate about the underlying reasons. Are they restructuring significantly, or is this a broader economic signal for the retail sector? For those of us still employed, it certainly raises questions about future stability and what skills might be most valuable moving forward. The uncertainty is the hardest part.

Oof, that's a tough pill to swallow. 500 jobs is a significant number. It makes you wonder if there's a strategic shift happening behind the scenes that isn't being communicated clearly to everyone.
