Anyone else worried about Target's long-term strategy after these cuts?

Okay, so 500 more people gone. On top of the previous ones. It's hard not to feel uneasy, even if you're not directly impacted *yet*. I've been with Target for a few years now and things just feel... unstable. The constant talk about 'agility' and 'optimization' is starting to sound like a euphemism for 'we might cut you'. Is this a sign they're really struggling to compete, or are they just aggressively trimming the fat? Wondering if anyone in a more senior role has any visibility into the actual business decisions driving this. Feels like we're all just waiting for the next shoe to drop.

I'm right there with you. It's definitely unnerving to see these waves of layoffs. While I understand companies need to adapt, the frequency and scale are hard to ignore. I keep wondering what the underlying financial pressures are. Are they investing heavily in new areas that aren't yielding results yet, or is the core business facing significant headwinds? It makes it tough to feel secure about the future, regardless of your department.
