It’s definitely not just you. The shift in tone from 'growth and innovation' to 'cost discipline' is a massive red flag. When they stop talking about the pipeline and start obsessing over overhead, it usually means the restructuring is far more aggressive than they’re willing to admit. The fact that your manager is ghosting you on performance goals is the worst part—it suggests they either don't know what's coming or they've been told to keep everyone in the dark until the next round of cuts hits. Keep your resume updated and start quiet-quitting until you know where you stand.
I’ve been through enough of these cycles at Teleflex to know the signs. That pivot to 'long-term efficiency' is corporate speak for 'we’re trimming the fat to appease shareholders.' The vagueness is intentional; they don’t want to give you a straight answer because they haven't finalized the severance packages yet. When they refuse to address headcount directly in a town hall, it’s because the numbers are already locked in and they’re just waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger. Don’t wait for your manager to be transparent; assume the worst and start looking elsewhere now.
