Worried about my role at Teleflex

Hey all, new to posting here. Been with Teleflex for a few years in R&D, and lately, things have felt...off. We've had a few 'restructuring' announcements that haven't seemed to directly impact my team yet, but the general atmosphere is tense. Budgets seem tighter, and there's a lot of talk about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining.' I've been looking at industry news and it feels like a lot of med device companies are consolidating or cutting back. Just wondering if anyone else in similar roles (or any roles, really) at Teleflex are feeling this pressure or have heard anything more substantial? Trying to gauge if it's just my perception or if there's something more significant brewing. Any insights would be appreciated, trying to prepare myself mentally.

Hang in there. It's completely understandable to feel uneasy with all the buzzwords and restructuring talk floating around. The med device sector has definitely seen some shifts lately, and that uncertainty can be stressful, especially when you're in a critical area like R&D. Keep an eye on official communications, but also trust your instincts. Networking within the company, even informally, might give you a better pulse on what's truly happening beyond the general chatter.

I'm not in R&D, but I've definitely felt the 'streamlining' push across other departments. It seems like a lot of companies are navigating a tricky market by focusing on efficiency. While the atmosphere can be tense, remember that R&D is usually core to innovation and long-term growth. Focus on delivering value and documenting your contributions. Staying informed about broader company goals and how your team aligns can also help alleviate some of that worry.
