Anyone else feeling uneasy about the Gigafactory Nevada expansion?

I've been at Tesla for 4 years, working as a manufacturing engineer at the Nevada Gigafactory. Lately, the talk about the massive expansion has me a bit worried. On one hand, it's great for the company and promises more opportunities, but on the other hand, rapid expansion has often led to layoffs in the past. I remember hearing stories from some OGs about SolarCity. My team has been working overtime to get everything ready, and honestly, I'm burning out. I'm hoping that the higher-ups have a solid plan in place to manage the growth effectively, but a little more transparency about job security would be appreciated. Anyone else in a similar boat or have insights into how Tesla usually handles these situations?

I totally get where you're coming from. Rapid expansion is always a double-edged sword. I used to work for a smaller tech company that experienced similar growth, and while it was initially exciting, it quickly became unsustainable. The pressure to meet deadlines increased, and eventually, layoffs happened when the initial hype died down. Hopefully, Tesla has learned from past mistakes and has a solid long-term plan in place to avoid repeating them. Take care of yourself, and don't burn yourself out!

Honestly, these concerns are overblown. Tesla is in a different position than SolarCity ever was. The demand for EVs is only going to increase, and the Gigafactory expansion is crucial to meeting that demand. Of course, there will be growing pains, but I doubt we'll see massive layoffs. Manufacturing efficiency is key and it is important that Tesla not get behind companies like BYD.
